Live a Fearless Faith
Faith is something spectacular to me. Having faith means putting your trust in God and casting aside all fear, because you trust Him and the future he has set forth for you. Faith has been on my mind a lot lately. It’s so easy to have faith sometimes, other times it’s not so easy. I remember this one time a friend of mine asked “How do you believe in something you can’t even see?” Anybody who’s Christian has gotten this question before (if not, it’s coming). It actually took me a minute to come up with a response to that... It's actually a pretty intense question. After thinking about it for a minute, I responded with “I believe in God because I can see Him in the things and people around me.” I still think that’s my best answer to that question. I like to use love as a comparison, because God is Love, so it works. We all believe in love. We all openly admit to loving others. We can’t “see” love. You can’t. It’s not an object that I can hold in my hand and wave in your face. Yet, we all believe in love. Why? Because you feel love. You see love in others, through their words and actions. I believe faith in God is the same. You can’t “see” God. You can’t “see” Jesus anymore. That time has passed for us. But you can feel His love, and see Him in and through other people and things. I love the beach, and I always have. One of the reasons I love it so much is that I feel so close to God when I’m there. As cliché as it may sound, I see Him in the tide. The tide is so beautiful, powerful, terrifying, calming, and strong. That’s how I think of God. It takes a lot out of a person to constantly have faith sometimes, but the joys that come from it are so genuinely sweet. I have a fearless faith. I have SEEN God show up for me so many times, show up for others so many times, and answer even the most outrageous prayers. It’s real. Have faith, y’all. Trust in God, completely. Let your FAITH be BIGGER than your FEAR. Have a fearless faith.
XOXO,
Tay
