Pursuing What Sets My Soul On Fire

Do you fall victim to comparison a lot? I do, definitely. I think the truth is that most of us probably do. It is so easy to fall into this trap of thinking that somebody has better clothes, better friends, better things and so much more. Social media is super fun and handy, but it definitely doesn’t help with this ever-present issue. There are so many things I have been blessed with that I have taken for granted because of social media and I am tired of feeling that way. For the longest time, in high school, my bio on Instagram said, “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” That quote has always meant a lot to me, and recently I saw it on Instagram again and it reminded me of who I was, along with who I want to be. Things that set your soul on fire can also be described as “passions”. Passions are the fuel to living a life you are enjoying. Passion is essential in cultivating a life you can be proud of. Everybody has different passions, everyone’s soul is different and is lit on fire by different things. Find what sets your soul on fire and chase after it, chase after it with everything in you. This is a lesson I have been grabbing ahold of lately, that I’m clinging to desperately. I don’t want to waste all this passion and drive I have, I want to cultivate it into something with purpose- something that sets my soul on fire.

I have always loved children, in fact, I’m PASSIONATE about children, who they are, their learning process and the overall pureness and goodness of Christ that they so effortlessly reflect. This is something that lights my soul on fire and excites me. I am a nanny and I’m working towards my career as an elementary teacher (almost… done…!!) because I have this drive and this passion to cultivate greatness in children, to love them and nurture them into success.

I do this blog because I love writing. Writing out my stories and thoughts for others to read is something that makes me feel whole and happy, it is an absolute passion of mine- english has always been my favorite subject in school. YouTube is something I am so passionate about- for fun, and to spread the good news, it makes me so giddy. And sharing about Jesus… THAT lights my soul on fire. Above all else, above all earthly desires and treasures, Jesus makes me who I am. He is the reason behind my drive, the reason I wake up every day, the reason I will always be pursuing truth- wherever I go. God is the Creator of all things, all passions and all desires. God is the reason we have souls, precious precious souls, and He lights mine on fire.

I am on a mission to pursue what sets my soul on fire- that’s Jesus.

Will you join me?

xx,

Tay
